Introducing Bodily funktion:
Strutting straight off the back of the black power movement, Bodily Funktion step fresh out of motown, and straight to the Mallacoota Mud Brick Pavillion. Comprising two members: Fat Capital P and his brother Darren, they create an intense groove by using strong bass guitar riffs and bass lines and utilized the same extended chords found in bebop jazz. In jam sessions, they encourage one another to "get down" by telling one another. Their contemporaries can attest: "If I am the Prime Minister of Funk, they can be in my cabinet"; George Clinton. "You know they can't play my stuff. It's too complicated."; James Brown. "It's alright, we're gonna have a good time tonight!"; Kool and The Gang. "I've outdone anyone you can name - Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Strauss. Irving Berlin, he wrote 1,001 tunes. I wrote 5,500."; James Brown.
Funk Workshop, 2 - 4pm; Bodily Funktion will explain “what is funk?” and help participants get down and groove. Open for all ages, instruments, vocals and percussion, $10 at the door.
Funky Disco, 8:30pm; starring Bodily Funktion, with music-videos of all-time great funk. See James Brown, Earth Wind and Fire Parliament, the Temptations and more. Strut your stuff in funky fashion with afros, wide lapels, bling, platform shoes, flares or your own funky style.

MALLACOOTA AND ITS' ARTS COUNCIL
In the mid 70's when the town's population was only 600, the artists in Mallacoota recognising a need for a platform for their art, came together and formed a group which would be later called the Mallacoota Arts Council. The Mallacoota Arts Council (MAC) began with the aim to promote cultural activities that could bridge the geographic isolation of the town and reduce the disadvantages incurred by living so far from the city.
MAC has since fulfilled its intention, providing high quality entertainment and artistic experience to locals and producing events for the enjoyment of visitors to the town.
MAC was established as an Association Incorporated in 1981, under the umbrella of the Victorian Arts Council and its primary business was conducting an annual Easter Festival, developing community arts and presenting high quality performance material from out of town.
The Council has ceased to produce an annual festival. In recent years Mallcoota Arts Council has changed its focus from the major Easter Festival to present a yearly arts program.
